Walking My Talk – My Journey to Health and Fitness

circle1_optAs I tell anyone who’ll listen, it is great to be in the Life-Changing business.

I am proud to be a nationally-recognized inspirational and motivational speaker, seminar leader, business and personal coach, and author.

As you may already know, I’m also a 9/11 survivor who has transformed my own life, and now I serve as The Human WakeUp Call®® by using my own brush with tragedy as a message of self-discovery and empowerment.

The most important aspect is that I am authentic in all I do. Whether I am reaching new heights or falling flat on my face, I strive to share my genuine journey and share my own wisdom and energy with those seeking something similar.

When the photos came back, I had my own mini-wakeup call!  Who was that tired, out of shape guy on stage? How could that be me? (see pix)

Here I am talking about LIVING POWERFULLY and PLAYING BIG in all aspects of your life and I was definitely not living up to it when it came to my own health and fitness!  How was that being authentic?

The one aspect of my life that has always eluded me was around fitness and wellness.  I was a big athlete growing up but even with my activities, I don’t have nearly the fitness, physique and even health that I truly want.

All change starts with awareness, which leads to a new perspective, which creates the opening for a new possibility.  So, with his harsh new AWARENESS I took my own coaching and rather than getting stuck dwelling on ‘WHY’ I was this way, and lamenting or regretting it, I had new focus and energy to do something about it. It was time to face it, and take as many people as I can with me on my journey to becoming more fit and healthy than I’ve ever been.

I will definitely fall down along the way, but when I fall I’ll get up! And when I fall again, I’ll get up again, and again. Success to me isn’t based on any single outcome. Failure is NOT falling down.  Failure is giving up! Or not even trying!!

To transform myself and others, I have created a pilot program – a Virtual Challenge Group of 14 guys from around the country where we’re all using Beachbody home workouts and their Shakeology Daily Protein/Nutrient shakes to spend the next 60 days getting healthy and strong and keeping each other accountable and committed to ourselves. Included are all kinds of men – an ER Doctor, a 4th grade teacher, a psychoanalyst, a dentist, the north american head of operations of a large company, the Chief Revenue Officer/Head of Sales of a marketing company, the head of communications of a major sports league, etc. All sizes, styles and shapes.

It’s only day 3 but already changes are starting to show up. As we get further into this journey I’ll share more ‘before and after’ progress but I want there to be proven results before I do that. Remember, Authentic Living.
